Season 2 will see the surprise return of Jimmi Simpson as William and Ben Barnes’ Logan, who was last seen (ahem) riding into the sunset tied up and naked on a horse. New cast members include Gustaf Skarsgard (Vikings), Fares Fares (Tyrant), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), Katja Herbers (The Leftovers), Neil Jackson (Sleepy Hollow), Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), Hiroyuki Sanada (Helix), and Peter Mullan (Children of Men) as James Delos, the founder of Delos Incorporated.
When we left off in Season 1, the park’s hosts (aka androids) gained sentience and started engaging in a bloody massacre of the Westworld staff, led in their robot revolution by the late Dr. Ford (Anthony Hopkins) and a gun-toting Dolores (Wood, who recently compared her character to Jekyll and Hyde). Much to the Man in Black's delight. Some characters that were also missing for a number of episodes and thought dead and buried in the park will also return, while Season 2 will introduce the creepy drone hosts and expand the park to Shogunworld, Roman World, and Medieval World.
“Dreams don’t mean anything, Dolores.” There’s a lot to unpack in this trailer. There’s Bernard looking at a whole bunch of bodies floating in the water (in fact, there are bodies everywhere in the trailer), who also admits that Dolores frightens him. Then we have William, who somehow found his way inside the Delos facility while Dolores is being programmed. Teddy questioning whether what Dolores really wants to see is blood. The most important thing, however, is that we finally have our first look at Shogunworld. And it looks like Maeve, who is still looking for her daughter, will make her way there.
The brainchild of showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld stars Evan Rachael Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Rodrigo Santoro, Louis Herthum, Talulah Riley (who’s been upped to series regular), and Ed Harris as the Man in Black.
Westworld returns for its sophomore season on April 22 on HBO. Are you ready for the revolution?
