The Walking Dead is about a slow, inexorable shuffle toward an unknown fate — and that’s the storyline of the human characters. But the show is basically about forward momentum, even if the characters slow to a crawl. But Season 6 will be doing it a bit differently.
According to IDigitalTimes, the upcoming season will have more flashbacks than other seasons. In fact, producer Scott Gimple told an audience at San Diego Comic-Con that he was working on an episode that’s told entirely in flashback.
IDigitalTimes writes “[T]he series will pull some scenes directly from The Walking Dead comics as well as introduce backstories the comics haven’t had a chance to go into detail.” And Gimple said, “I think there’s a really cool aspect to the first half of the season that serves almost as a prequel to some direct comic stuff in the second half of the season.”
One of characters from the comic books that we’re likely to meet in the present day is Heath. When he’s not going on supply runs, he’s involved with Denise, a doctor in Alexandria.
So whose backstory will we be seeing? Will we learn more about the characters we met in Alexandria in Season 5? Or will we get more of Rick before the dark days?
Those are good questions. But really, we just want to know: Will we get to see how Daryl earned that jacket?
