Over four seasons, TNT’s The Last Ship has built a world that has survived everything from a worldwide pandemic to the near-collapse of the United States. Now we have our first look at the Nathan James’ final fight to save the world.

The first trailer for the fifth and final season of The Last Ship picks up after a massive cyber attack seemingly cripples the remnants of the United States as the nation’s enemies decide to make a final strike to wipe out the ol’ U.S. of A. What started as a simple mission to find a cure for a virus has evolved into a full-on post-apocalypse, following what’s left of humanity as they try to rebuild a new world. The show’s final run looks to bring all the core cast back together — on board the warship Nathan James, of course — to fend off this latest attack.

It has Michael Bay as a producer, and really, that’s one of the main things you need to know about this show. It’s big, action-packed, and an explosive way to wrap up the summer season. By tackling a cyber attack on the U.S., it also seems Season 5 could be the most timely season yet. The series stars Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Bridget Regan (Agent Carter), and Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck).

Season 5 of The Last Ship premieres September 9 on TNT.
