The last three decades have brought us a ton of great sci-fi, fantasy and comic-book costumes. But which ones are the most popular on Halloween?

It shouldn't surprise you that children and adults alike are are still into this whole "dress up in silly costumes and get free candy and/or booze" thing that we call Halloween. And as you might have guessed, some of the most popular costumes in each successive year tend to be of the supernatural or science fiction variety.

Which costumes were the most iconic on any given Hallow's eve? Turns out there's an infographic for that. Let's have a look, shall we?

Sure not all of these immediately fall under the auspices of science fiction. But, really, is Miley Cyrus from Earth? We're not so sure, and we have similar doubts about Snooki and Lady Gaga, too.

As for that costume that's still popular, even thirty years later? Well, that would be the Slave Leia bikini, naturally. We're not sure how many kids are wearing it on Halloween, but there's no question you'll see a parade of people wearing it at San Diego Comic-Con every year.

So, be honest -- how many of these costumes have you worn?
