Which X-Man was 'gutted' not to get a part in Days of Future Past?

Seems like practically everyone will be back for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, nearly everyone.

We just heard earlier in the week that Halle Berry is reprising her role as Storm, thus adding yet another major name to the seemingly unending list of actors returning to the X-fold. Still, that doesn't guarantee everyone. And, indeed, it seems we have received confirmation that one mutant from First Class will not be returning.

Jason Flemyng, who played the role of the transporting, red-skinned devil Azazel, has said he won't be back, and it seems as though that is not by choice.

I don’t think I will be back. Initially I was gutted, but then, I remembered I had to get up at two in the morning, I had to be painted red and be slightly out of focus and posed a lot, and that was sort of it. Now I don’t have to do that.

Now, granted, he does say he doesn't "think" he will be back, but why say he's gutted if he isn't overwhelmingly certain? Perhaps Flemyng is hoping an outpouring of fan desire for his character's return will sway things in his favor. That is, of course, if he really wants to strap into the makeup chair at 2 a.m.

We're a bit bummed that he won't be back, given he is Nightcrawler's father. Then again, given that the mother, Mystique, is played by Jennifer Lawrence, who is nearly 25 years Flemyng's junior, well ... maybe it's for the best.

But what do you think?
