Next month, after a whole host of other galactic adventures involving the Nova Corps and stealing from The Collector while working for the Grandmaster, the Guardians of the Galaxy are about to embark on an epic adventure. As part of the Marvel Legacy event, in which we're promised every book will get its own major event story, the Guardians will embark on "Infinity Quest." The word "Infinity" in the Marvel parlance suggests a major storyline with cosmic proportions, and apparently this particular story is so big that the team's gonna need a new member.

In All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #12 from writer Gerry Duggan and artist Rod Reis, the Guardians will need some help from a former Avenger. But which one? Marvel's not telling yet, but Reis' cover for the issue reveals four very different choices:

Doctor Strange, Cable, Deadpool, or Man-Thing.

“We’re excited to have an Avenger joining the ranks of the Guardians … or is it the Nova Corps? Or both? Oh, you’ll see,” editor Jordan D. White said in a statement. “Just know, he beat out some stiff competition, as you can tell by that cover of issue #12!”

All four are very interesting choices. Dr. Strange feels a bit like the wild card, though he and Drax could certainly find something to talk about. Deadpool and Star-Lord could trade off jokes and butt heads, Cable and Rocket could bond over a mutual love of really big guns, and Groot and Man-Thing is a match made in plant monster heaven.

All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #12 is on sale Oct. 18. Step right up and place your best for who'll join the team.
