Why did Fringe just hire another blond Australian actress?

Olivia, Peter, Astrid and Lincoln aren't the only Fringe agents out there. It's been confirmed that two more are joining the team. One is a blond bombshell, and the other's a J.J. Abrams favorite.

The drama has cast Australian actress Georgina Haig as Etta, a new Fringe agent who'll debut in this season's 19th episode. Etta won't be alone as she'll be partnered with former Lost star Henry Ian Cusick.

Unlike Haig, Cusick's appearance may be a one-shot deal. He's currently a regular on the ABC drama Scandal, which is keeping him pretty busy. Haig's character has the potential to stick around on a recurring basis. Does that mean something terrible happens to Cusick during his visit? We hope not!

The casting department must have a thing for Australian actors. Despite their great American accents, both Anna Torv and John Noble are native Aussies. Also, Torv and Haig look eerily similar. What's up with that?

It will be interesting to see how the new agents fit in to the Fringe fold.

Fringe returns March 23.

What do you think of the new blood being pumped into Fringe?
