Marvel's The Avengers gave the Hulk a new lease on life, and the film left fans wanting more of the giant green hero. After watching him ride off into the sunset with Tony Stark, how likely is he to get another solo movie?

Bruce Banner/Hulk portrayer Mark Ruffalo recently spoke to MTV about the character's future. When it comes to headlining his own superhero film, he thinks that boat has sailed. "I think they've done it. I think they feel that they've done that," said Ruffalo. "I think they don't really know where to go [with the character]."

It took a long time for Marvel to nail down the right balance between Banner and his alter ego. Ruffalo was the first actor to play both roles, thanks to the innovations in motion capture technology. Perhaps they're right about his solo appeal. Hulk is at his best when he's a scene-stealing wild card in the midst of a group. You never know what he's going to do.

Things may be slow on the film front, but Marvel's still developing a Hulk TV show. The last we heard, Guillermo del Toro was still involved, and looking at writers for the pilot.
