As producers gear up to shoot Conan, a reboot of the barbarian saga created by Robert E. Howard, rumors about who will step into Arnold Schwarzenegger's, uh, loincloth are centering in part on Stargate Atlantis' Jason Momoa, better known as Ronon Dex.

This is what Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood reported:

Director Marcus Nispel is on track to start production March 15 in Bulgaria—if they can find the right barbarian. Last weekend, it seemed like things came down to two buff finalists: Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga sequels New Moon and Eclipse), and Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex in the TV series Stargate: Atlantis). Suddenly, Millennium and partner Lionsgate decided today to look at another unnamed but better established actor before deciding.

Not sure who the new guy is, but naturally, we'd vote for Jason, who hasn't been seen much since SGA went AWOL.

Who's your pick to play the new Conan? (And we're not talking about Jay Leno's replacement.)
