Darren Aronofsky was briefly flirting with the idea of directing the Superman reboot. But now that Zack Snyder has gotten the gig, what's a director to do? Why, move on to another superhero, of course!

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has begun talks with Aronofsky about X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, with the director meeting with Fox chief Tom Rothman to discuss whether it's possible to retain the kind of creative control he's used to.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 would reteam Aronofsky and Hugh Jackman, who last collaborated on 2006's The Fountain.

What do you think? Would Aronofsky, whose most recent film Black Swan has been getting some critical acclaim, be right for Wolverine?
