It's Star Trek vs. Star Wars, but not in the way you think. William Shatner decided to good-naturedly rib Mark Hamill over Twitter about Hamill's upcoming star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California.
"Congratulations!" tweeted Shatner. "BTW ask for a star on the south side of the street. I’m on the north side and don’t want to devalue the neighborhood."
Shatner was awarded a star in 1983 for his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise on the original Star Trek TV show in the 1960s and its ensuing films.
"Thanks, Bill," Hamill responded. "It wouldn't be as special without a classic Shatner-burn from you! Live Long, But Get Lost- , mh."
Shatner is no stranger to making fun of his fellow celebrities via social media. Back in November, he accidentally blocked Star Trek: Discovery's Jason Isaacs on Twitter. After unblocking Isaacs, he wrote "He who must not be named’s bff is now unblocked," in a comical reference to the British actor's role of Death Eater Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies.
The ceremony for the installation of Hamill's star will be held on March 8 and co-hosted by George Lucas and Harrison Ford.
