Xavier’s young X-Men team has to face its biggest challenge yet in X-Men: Apocalypse, but it looks like the kids will have a bit of help from a veteran.
The final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has arrived, showing off fresh footage of the conflict between Apocalypse’s (Oscar Isaac) forces and the X-Men. This trailer shows off a bit more of the setup, and it seems Apocalypse’s power is far more than even Xavier can face, so Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) work together to train these new mutants to help carry the load. The action looks insane, but it’s the final tease that truly steals the show.
There’ve been rumblings for months that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would make an appearance in the film, and it seems he will be back in action before the upcoming third Wolverine solo flick. The final shot shows a hallway of goons on the ground, and young Cyclops notes they had a bit of help taking them all out. Then, those claws.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27.
