We’re less than two weeks away from The X-Files’ long-awaited return, and a new trailer offers up a creepy peek at what’s in store.

Fox has dropped a new trailer for the six-episode event series, which brings back original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in the iconic roles of FBI agents Mulder and Scully. The episode order is said to be a mix of mythology-driven installments, as well as some stand-alone “Creaturee of the Week” stories (which made for some of the most memorable episodes of the original run), and the footage here seems to show off a bit of both.

We see a bit more of the alien tech conspiracy angle that’s been lingering since the original series, plus some freaky and atmospheric shots that are likely tied to the mysterious standalone episodes. The new run is set to premiere as a two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 following the NFC Championship Game, then continuing on Monday, Jan. 25.

Here’s the official synopsis for the revival:

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
