A legendary figure from the DC Comics universe is confirmed to appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League warmup. Can you guess who it is?
According to Hitfix, Jason Momoa is officially on board to play Aquaman for the director in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He'll join Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) in this first roll call for the team.
Now, Momoa denied months ago that he had the part, but that doesn't mean anything; actors and filmmakers lie all the time these days. Warner Bros. Pictures also has yet to make an official announcement about Momoa's involvement, but Hitfix says it has the facts cold.
The site goes on to say that Aquaman enters the picture because he's not happy about all the damage done to the Indian Ocean by the Kryptonians' World Engine in Man of Steel. While he will not have a major role in the film -- and may not even be referred to as "Aquaman," at least initially -- he will be set up to return in Justice League.
Wlll the Game of Thrones and Conan star go blond for the role? Or is the King of Atlantis being interpreted as more of a primitive? And more importantly, can Momoa make people forget about Vincent Chase's lackadaisical performance in James Cameron's film from a few years back?
OK, that last bit is an Entourage joke, although it does point up the fact that Aquaman could be a tough challenge to bring to life on the big screen. But it looks like we'll find out on May 6, 2016, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters like a superhero-filled nuclear warhead.
Are you excited about Aquaman making his big-screen debut? Any other Justice League members you want to see in this movie?
