Zack Snyder made his own Star Wars/DC mash-up trailer, and here it is

He might be helming DC’s superhero universe, but Zack Snyder is one heck of a big Star Wars fan. So he decided to combine the two into … something?

Snyder has released his very own Star Wars and Batman v Superman mash-up trailer, which he has dubbed Dark Side Knight v Superjedi: Dawn of the Alliance (which is almost as absurd as his actual movie’s name). The trailer makes all the obvious moves you’d expect, dropping the Death Star in Metropolis’ sky, giving Batman a lightsaber, and dubbing in a boatload of iconic Star Wars dialogue.

But … it’s still not all that exciting. It’s indicative of Snyder’s approach to the DC universe, with more mood than actual fun. Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a critical smash because it was a crazy good time. Batman v Superman was … not. Because it was a dour, three-hour brood-fest. By poking fun with a long title, Snyder seems to be saying he’s kinda in on the joke. But he still seems to miss the point.

If this is any indication, let's pray Disney never gives Snyder the reins to an actual Star Wars movie.

Check out the mash-up below (first posted on the social media app Vero) and let us know what you think:
