Sure, The Walking Dead might get most of the attention—but Syfy has its own zombie series that will be back to battle the undead in 2017.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Z Nation will officially be returning for a fourth season on the network (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed.). The show received a 13-episode order for its fourth season, matching the typical episode count for past seasons. The series has been a solid performer in the ratings, averaging a total of 1.2 million viewers, and it often lands among the top 10 most-watched scripted shows on cable.

Z Nation has developed into one heck of an interesting series the past few years, blending dark comedy, drama, horror and weirdness into a tight, zany package. If you’re looking for a break from the bleak melodrama of The Walking Dead, you could do far worse. It’s not high art, but when it’s hitting on all cylinders, this show can be really fun.

The current season of Z Nation wraps up on Dec. 16 on Syfy.

The series is part of Syfy’s ramped up slate of originals, which spans The Expanse, 12 Monkeys, Channel Zero, Killjoys, Dark Matter, Wynonna Earp, The Magicians, Van Helsing and Incorporated.
