The Expanse: From Where Do I Know These People?

You may recognize a few cast members of The Expanse from some of your favorite movies, TV series ... and Syfy shows!

You may recognize a few cast members from The Expanse from some of your favorite movies and TV series … and a few from other Syfy shows as well!

Let's take a closer look at this impressive dramatis personae, shall we?

  1. Thomas Jane as Detective Miller



    You know Tom from such films as Dreamcatcher (2003), The Punisher (2004) and The Mist (2007), as well as from his delightful turn as a male prostitute on Showtime's Hung (2009-11).
     
  2. Shohreh Aghdashloo as Chrisjen Avasarala



    Shoreh received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in House of Sand and Fog (2003). You may also know her from The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), the fourth season of 24 (2005) and, more recently, her role as Stefania Vaduva Popescu on Grimm (2013-14).
     
  3. Steven Strait as James Holden



    Steven is probably best known for his role as Stevie Evans on Magic City (2012-13), though he's also appeared in such features films as Sky High (2005), The Covenant (2006), 10,000 BC (2008) and Stop-Loss (2008).
     
  4. Wes Chatham as Amos Burton



    You know Wes. He's Castor in both chapters of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (2014-15). He also played Carlton Phelan in The Help (2011), Staff Sergeant Sam McBride on The Unit (2009) and appeared as Isaac on Barbershop (2005-06).

    And you may recognize these cast members as tried and true Syfy alums …
     
  5. Cas Anvar as Alex Kamal



    Cas also played Xerxes on Olympus.
     
  6. Athena Karkanis as Octavia Muss



    Athena also played Nadia on Lost Girl.
     
  7. Kristen Hager as Ade Nygaard



    Kristen wolfed out as Nora Sergeant on Being Human.
     
  8. Joe Pingue as Captain McDowell



    Joe guest-starred on Lost Girl as underground gym owner Salvatore Ferraro (in the Season 2 episode, "Raging Fae"). He also played Quinn in the very first episode of Alphas.
