Wynonna is taking Dolls' death in more or less the same way she takes all other news: with a handle of whiskey. After a near-death run-in with a Revenant, she gets hauled out of danger by Waverly and Nicole... at least for the time being.

While rustling up some liquor at the bar, Doc hears some uninvited footsteps. Turns out there's going to be another bereaved at the wake. This guy: one of Dolls' colleagues, Black Badger Ramone Quinn.

While searching through Dolls' apartment for his effects and dark past, Nicole opens up about her own. She finally confides in Waverly about her run-in with the Cult of Bulshar when she was but a little girl. It scarred her for life.

And it turns out that Dolls' death came as a surprise to everyone except... Dolls and Jeremy. It was the persistent use of the drugs that ran the man's life into the ground — and both Dolls and Jeremy knew it all along.

If only they had some more Black Badge serum... that would revitalize Dolls. Too bad these Revenant punks pilfered the supply in the basement of Doc's bar, and are experimenting with it on their own veins. And going berzerk.

Back at Dolls' apartment complex, the Contessa gives Nicole and Waverly the drop, and steals Waverly's bag. That wouldn't be so terrible if that bag didn't contain a letter that Dolls wrote and addressed to Wynonna with instructions for her to open it after he died. Oh no!

Nicole's got her sights set on some spirits, as Jeremy is snooping around the basement for who-knows-what. What he happens upon is the looted ice chest where Dolls was storing his attempts at a serum susbtitute — the same serum substitutes stolen by that gang of Revenant punks.

Who have just arrived at the bar, crashed the wake, crashed some bottles and glasses, and are intent on killing vibes left and right. They want some real serum or else — little do they know that no one has any. Wynonna has to brandish Peacemaker before they scurry away. Jeremy's presence, and the alternative serums, has Ramone intrigued.

Waverly enlists Doc's help to track down the Contessa and retrieve the bag and letter. Contessa had no intentions of opening the envelope — she just wanted an invitation to the wake.

Wynonna drops in on Jeremy — she traded some coarse words with him in the heat of the moment — and when she does she finds Ramone stapling the nerd to the chair. Ramone wants Jeremy to tell him where he's keeping the rest of the drugs. When he gets his hands on them, he's going to inject them into his system, turn reptilian, and then storm Black Badge for revenge. Wynonna lowers Peacemaker and talks the rogue agent out of his plans, and sees him out of town.

Then comes the hard part. The gang come together for the departure of one of their own. Bring the tissues. Heck, bring the whole damn roll of TP!
