Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Now, we don’t wanna alarm anyone, but things are bad. Look at those red clouds! Time is collapsing on itself and Katarina is worried they are running out of options. They need to protect the Primaries and luckily, her new/estranged boyfriend, Dr. Ecklund, found one in 1975.

Not everything in 2044 is so dire, though. Ramse is getting to spend a lot of time with his son whom Ramse has a heart-to-heart with about why Ramse risked the lives of millions in order to save him. Sam, who's seriously wise beyond his years, begs Ramse to realize that there are others who need saving, and then? Ramse heads out on the mission with Cole.

In order to save the Primary, the boys are headed to 1975 in NYC. Did we mention that the Primary they are supposed to protect is a crazed serial killer called “The Immortal?” This should be interesting. And probably terrifying.
200497
Back in 2016 it looks like Cassie is starting to warm up to Jennifer, whom she stayed behind to take care of. Or … did she stay behind to figure out why Aaron appeared to her in her red tea induced hallucination?
200498
To find the psychotic Primary, the boys follow his last known victim, Victoria, a single mom with a rocking cocaine habit, in hopes that she will lead them to him. The plan works, but Cole can’t sit back and let her die, which causes a disturbance in time allowing the Primary to get away. And also that’s where the Messenger comes in.
200499
Having lost their only lead, Cole and Ramse decide to feed the Primary’s name (Kyle Slade) to the cops hoping that they’ll be able to find him (and then they can protect him!).
200500
The boys' plan worked! The cops lead them straight to Kyle Slade, but before Cole hands him over to police custody, where he’ll be safe from the Messengers, Kyle tells Cole that he knows where The Witness is. This could be Cole’s chance to save the world. Unfortunately, the cops arrest Slade because HE’S A SERIAL KILLER.
200501
Umm… What is Aaron doing here in real life? Apparently the 12 Monkey’s saved him from that big explosion and nursed him back to health. AND convinced him that destroying time is best for everyone. An idea he’s now trying to sell Cassie on.
200502
Cole has to grab Slade back from the cops so Slade can lead him to The Witness, so that Cole can save time. This doesn’t sit right with Ramse who tells Cole that if he’s gonna do this, he’s on his own.
200503
Ramse makes his way back to the hotel where he finds Victoria bound to a chair- because one of The Messengers found them. After a quick struggle, Ramse kills the Messenger and heads off to help Cole after all. As per usual.
200504
Kyle leads Cole through a booby trapped house of horrors complete with limbs hanging from the ceiling, murals of blood, trip wires connected to explosives and The Witness (maybe?) in a cage.
200505
Though close to being tempted by Aaron’s vision of a world without time, Cassie ultimately says she needs to save time, which makes Aaron reveal that he’s not Aaron at all, but actually THE WITNESS! (Note the spooky eyes!) He then disappears and Cassie wakes up in the hotel lobby… How'd she get there?
200506
And here’s where things get super REAL! Cole unmasks The Witness who ends up being a Messenger. Ramse finds Cole and Slade, but unfortunately so do the cops who trip the explosive booby trap. Everything is chaos, but Cole and Ramse get the upper hand and take out both the Messenger and our crazy friend Slade.
200507
Arriving back in 2044, Ramse and Cole discover that stopping the Messenger from paradoxing Slade made some of those scary red clouds go away! YAY! Then the two bros share some bro-y feels in a very bro-y way.
200508
Cassie is super shaken after her run in with The Witness, but Jennifer encourages her to go back to the future and fight. Then… OH GOD WHAT’S WRONG WITH CASSIE'S EYES!?
