Bats that can grow up to 5 feet in length are endemic to Madagascar, but recent reports of mega-bats are giving nature lovers on this mysterious island, more than they bargained for. The Fangalobolo reportedly stands almost three feet tall, with a 10 foot wingspan, and a monkey-like face. Considered carnivores, these mysterious blood drinkers have been rumored to hunt aggressively after dusk. Also called "hair snatchers", the Fangalobolo have been said to dive onto unsuspecting human victims when their territory is threatened.

Since Madagascar is one of the least explored islands on earth, it could be the perfect place for these cave demons to have escaped detection by the modern world.The massive national preserves of Ankarana have the highest density of primates of any forest in the world, and more than 100 kilometers of bat-infested caves have been mapped below the surface.
