Episode 101: "A Family Affair"
Meet Mary O. a loving mother and psychic intuitive who's in the business of knowing everyone else's business. In the first episode of the exciting reality series we're introduced to Mary and her three children: Carl, who's referred to by Mary as "superman", Christopher, the endearing teacher and Jackie a restaurant manager who loves her mom but wishes she would learn to turn her psychic abilities off sometimes. Mary often uses her radio show as an opportunity to vet single male callers as potential dates for her daughter-much to Jackie's horror.
And while Jackie's deals with her mom, Carl and Christopher work out their sibling rivalries at the dinner table. Mary and her brood squabble like any other family, yet at the end of the day they love one another unconditionally. Jackie, Christopher and Carl have all come to trust their mother's intuitions and the chaos that comes along with it. Everyday is a new adventure for this tight-night family, keeping things in Long Island quite interesting...
Episode 102: "Roots & Rhythm"
In this episode Jackie reveals to her family that she has been dating her ex boyfriend for eight months. The news doesn't settle well with Mary because she is reminded of the crap Jackie went through with her ex. Despite Mary and the family's uneasiness with the situation, Jackie is still asked to create a theme song with uncle Charlie for Mary's show and after giving MUCH attitude, she completes it. We also see Mary do a few readings where she reveals some information about JP Morgan Chase and a woman's dead friend.
Chris on the other hand is out "Justifying his eccentricities" (which he also got tatted on his arm). He started his own radio show and even though he got tons of negative feedback, his optimism and drive hasn't waivered. Later, Mary and Carl research their family lineage and uncover love letters written by her grandparents to one another. She also catches up with her last living relative on her father's side and visits a park dedicated to her grandfather's memory.
Episode 103: "Salem On My Mind"
This week, the family explores past lives, self-discovery and future achievements. Jackie quits her job to focus on living out her dreams and of course Mary (like any cool mom) supports her decision. The two take advantage of this time to venture on a road trip to Salem where they bond, sightsee and make eerie discoveries. When they arrive, Mary starts to get strong vibes about the energy in the area. She's certain that both she and Jackie belonged to the community of Salem at another time and after doing some research she and Jackie find out that her hunch is right. They visit the site where the Salem witch trials took place and find a gravesite marked "Mary Corey", which Mary strongly believes was the woman she was in her past life.
Meanwhile back at home, Chris finally finishes writing his play Five Days into Madness and begins holding auditions in Long Island. Yet, much to his dismay the auditioning actors are a little less… "seasoned" than he expected. After a few false starts he finally ends up with a solid cast. Mary advices Chris, Jackie and the faithful listeners of her radio show to not let their past lives be a cop-out for pursuing present journeys.
Episode 104: "Justify Your Eccentricities"
Jackie finally takes control of her destiny and turns her dreams of being a model into a reality. She takes a few classes, sets up a meeting with a Ford plus size model to get some pointers and preps for two outstanding photo shoots. Once she's gotten her own priorities in check, Jackie then focuses her energy on getting her mom a date. She enlists the help of uncle Charlie and her dad Dennis (ironically) to help find Mr. Right for Mary. But to their disappointment, Mary's not ready to make nice. She browses through the web profiles of the bachelors but decides that she isn't interested in dating or starting a relationship with anyone at the moment.
Later, Mary holds a seminar with a large group of people at her store Celestial Whispers. Not wanting to disappoint anyone, Mary reads everyone in the room even though it leaves her emotionally and mentally drained. Despite her fatigue Mary schedules more meetings with women who are questioning the well being of their family members and love lives. That's Mary O. for ya, dedicated beyond measure to her craft.
The family ends an exciting season with Mary still single, Jackie embarking on a budding modeling career and Chris finally getting that back of his waxed— you've got to see it to believe it. What's next for this colorful clan? Only Mary knows…
