School: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Our very own Grant Wilson of Ghost Hunters encountered almost every type of ghost possible in his career—except for maybe a moaning one. Moaning Myrtle, the ghost who haunts the second floor girls Lavatory in Hogwarts created nothing but relentless high shrills to the human ears for majority of women (and polyjuice potion men)Before she was murdered, Myrtle fell victim to the constant bullying of student Oliver Hornby. One day, Myrtle locked herself in a bathroom, crushed from the harsh words of Hornby. Don't worry—she didn't pull a Carrie and blow up the toilet. Myrtle was murdered by the Slytherin basilisk under Lord Voldemort's orders (yes we said his name), in 1943. Myrtle continued to haunt, and whine in every stall of the bathroom, where she was again ignored and labeled a nuisance by any and every student she encountered. They threw books, pens and wands at the elusive girl…and always missed (are you surprised?). Aside from being a transparent target, Myrtle served as a quite a help to Mr. Potter—and I'm not referring to any potty training. Her story eventually becomes one of the first leads to tracking down Voldemort's. In turn, her bathroom became the exact entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.
Lesson Learned: Don't Bully a ghost. Even the whiny ones hold the most sought after secrets.
