6 of 17OK, so back in 2044 we learn the entire timeline has changed. But the only people that know it are Cassie, Jones and Ramse, because they've taken those time travel injections. The main differences are the plague still happened but later and to a much, much lesser degree. Cassie tells Jones that Cole has abandoned the mission because he’s emotionally compromised.

11 of 17Meanwhile, in 2016, Cole learns a few things: that apparently in 1944, he bought this hotel room at the Emerson Hotel and was here with Cassie (he finds multiple pictures, including one with her) and the Jennifer was definitely told by someone that her purpose in life was to start the virus, which is why she's so freaked out. Cole lovingly and kindly tells her it's time for her to find a new purpose.

14 of 17Having been convinced that she needs Cole, Jones sends Cassie to get Cole and he returns to 2044 (the note the Daughters gave for him was from their leader, Jennier, which said "I found my purpose."). Anyway, in 2044, Cole is thrown in jail because Cassie says he can't be trusted.
