Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Out of the blue, a rider on a white stallion comes to the Copelands' rescue, and mows down the gang of feverheads pursuing the family.
206576
Turns out, Karen knows the rider. He's Lamar Boone, and he's got his own "end of days fortress" named the Alamo just up the ways. He also looks like Wayne Brady.
206577
Before getting back into the RV, Karen is debilitated by what sounds like loud wailing. Only she seems to be the only one who hears it.
206578
Meanwhile, Sally and Quantrell are on the run from the compound, since being overtaken by feverheads.
206579
What Sally doesn't know is that Quantrell might be turning into one.
206580
While traipsing about in the forest for an access route to Boone's stronghold, Dana gets sucked under ground by some villainous vegetable — the Jubokko plant.
206581
When the Copelands don't show up at the Alamo, Boone sends two emissaries to go and get them out of trouble.
206582
The messengers lead the Copelands to the Alamo, where Boone meets them with open arms. Well, he meets Karen with open arms, and Josh with some harsh words.
206583
Meanwhile, Quantrell is getting sicker and sicker. And acting weirder and weirder.
206584
Karen suffers another acute attack of the screaming in her head, and has to leave the table for a breath of fresh air.
206585
And when she does, she sees this singing telegram: a banshee. The only time these come around is if a family member is going to die.
206586
While making their way through the forest, Quantrell and Sally are ambushed by a raging feverhead / Skin Walker hybrid (new threat alert!). Quantrell gives him hell, allowing Sally to escape.
206587
Sally's got a gun (that she refuses to shoot), and she's running to the Alamo.
206588
Martin, one of Boone's emissaries, takes Dana to a drained swimming pool on the compound, and shows her what life is like without the floaties.
206589
Quantrell wanders over to the Alamo, and Sally tries to help him. But is he a lost cause?
206590
Boone doesn't seem to think so - after a guilt trip from Sally - and so helps Sally get the guy inside.
206591
The next morning, Boone organizes an all out assault on the oncoming feverheads slash Skin Walkers.
206592
The fever and Spirit Walker within has gotten to Quantrell, and he turns against the one person who tried to help him most, breaking Sally's neck and killing her.
206593
So Karen shoots him to hell.
206594
It is a sad day for the Copeland family, as they reckon with the loss of one of their own.
