Fun Facts Gallery: Season 1, Episode 12

Chaos, disaster and terror - just another day in the life of the Copeland family. ICYM any of the Season 1 episodes, here's a quick recap to get you caught up to speed.

Meet the Copelands, a family of five who live on a farm in Washington State. Dad's a professor, Mom's an ex-military chopper pilot and their three kids, Matt, Brianna and Dana - who are twins- are pretty well behaved by millennial standards. Matt is the resourceful big brother. Brianna is the "I'm not cute, I'm cool!" twin and Dana is the "I'm smart but wish I was cool" twin.

Everything was going swell for the clan until the world went to hell, starting with a random hurricane (uh, in Washington State?), then the roof collapsing and then a demon came to dinner and then a flying demon carried away Brianna, separating her from the family for four whole episodes.

So on top of natural and unnatural disasters looming overhead as a threat, the Copelands - and the rest of the world - have to beware of Skinwalkers, which are spirits who can posses a person and cause them to do things they couldn't otherwise do.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image5.jpg
208574

Also? Beware of the feverhead. These folks are super strong, rabid zombie types who go insane and then get insanely violent. The symptoms include blood in the mouth and throat. Fun.

After Brianna is carried up, up and away by the flying Skinwalker, the family piles into the RV for am impromptu (and quite necessary) road trip to get the hell out of town and to find Brianna.

Along the way, the Copelands pick up Aunt Sally, Karen's estranged - and hippie dippie - sister, who's also a nurse.

Meanwhile, while trying to reunite with her family, Brianna makes nice with a girl named Tatianna who REALLY wants to use Brianna's cell phone so bad that she smashes Brianna's head into a rock and leaves her for dead.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image9.jpg
208578

Brianna gets her phone back and encounters some Puritan types who take her in only to later turn her in to their Reverend Brother because they think Brianna's "wild ways" need taming. Also, they think she's evil and possessed. Not true, btw.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image10.jpg
208579

Actually, the Reverend Brother is the one who's possesed so Devyn, a local and impressionable - and gosh darn cute-  boy who lives on the farm helps Brianna escape and reunite with her family. Devyn later commits suicide when he becomes possessed by a Skinwalker. He'd rather take his own life than risk hurting Brianna. Aww. And :(.

While looking for Brianna, aunt Sally, the nurse who's a bit **too** helpful came down with a case of flesh eating bugs. She's later saved by Dr. Rawlins who's later shot and killed by a feverhead. His death was pretty sad, 'cause doctors save people and stuff.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image12.jpg
208581

Determined to put her degree to use, Sally decides to stay on with Quantrall, an old Army buddy of Karen's (seen here) so that she can take Dr. Rawlins' place and help cure the feverheads that she and Quantrall encounter.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image13.jpg
208582

Later, Wayne Brady - excuse us, "Booner" - shows up riding a white horse, toting guns and kissing Karen. He even greets her with a nickname, "Booty". Karen later hears (and sees!) a screaming banshee, which usually signifies...

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image14.jpg
208583

Death. Maybe it wasn't a good idea for aunt Sally to stay behind with Quantrall because once he gets possessed by a Skinwalker, he kills her.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image15.jpg
208584

Dana later gets a boyfriend named Martin. An ex-Army Ranger who Karen totally approves of, which is cool. Martin is later killed by random hikers who tried to rob the Copelands of their RV, which is not cool.

Josh believes that he can stop all of the world's catastrophes if he links up with this woman named Professor Douglass. But when he finds her, she's depressed and drunk and wants Josh to put her out of her misery. Professor Douglass is shot and killed (by a woman name Janet who works with Wayne Brady - er…"Booner") and Josh makes off with some old computer card files of the professor that he thinks may be the key to solving the world's problems.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image17.jpg
208588

Karen loses a sister but gains an estranged father who runs his own camp and sells laced tetracycline - the only drug that can cure the feverhead sickness. This ain't your grandpa's grandpa, team. After grandpa tries to kill Josh - as only a drug dealing grandpa would - for meddling too much, Karen tells her dad to piss off and she and the family leave.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image18.jpg
208587

Josh comes down with the feverhead illness and the family scrambles to find tetracycline. Josh keeps rambling on and on about "The one is many, but the many one." Which makes no sense. Josh also has a hallucination wherein he talks to the younger version of his dead dad. His dad tells him that he's an Adept, which basically means that Josh is special and somehow connected to saving the world.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image19.jpg
208803

Matt gets a girlfriend - because his sisters already had their turns to have boyfriends - named Sarah who is able to give Josh the tetracycline that he needs. A cured Josh and the family go searching for this radio jockey named Bob "Moondog" Black who's apparently the only person who still has a job during the apocalypse.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image20.jpg
208802

Also, Moondog is hiring. He makes a broadcast wherein he says he's looking for an Adept to help him save the world. Josh links up with Moondog and they set out to figure out how to save the world from being destroyed by incoming meteors.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image21.jpg
208801

Amid all the other natural and unnatural disasters, something called a white whirlwind (AKA a wormhole), which acts like a giant vacuum in the sky (as wormholes do) has been randomly appearing and sucking up everything and EVERYONE in its wake. Translation: this is not good!

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image22.jpg
208806

Josh, Moondog and smart daughter Dana find an old computer and read Professor Douglass' computer card files which read: "The end of the world is not" over and over and over again. Josh and smart daughter Dana (we're kidding, Brianna is smart too!) deduce that what the good professor was trying to tell them is that there's a way for them to stop the world from ending - they just have to figure it out. Translation: there's hope!

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image23.jpg
208805

The gang heads back to where Moondog was transmitting his radio broadcasts and try to get the Tesla Tower to manipulate gravity and create a wormhole that will suck up all the meteors heading for Earth. Their plan works until it doesn't and one of the circuits blow.

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image24.jpg
208804

Karen climbs the tower to fix the circuit, risking her life for her kids. She gets the device working again - yay! But then the wormhole sucks her up anyway - boo!

Aftermath_S1_101_gallery_Image25.jpg
208807

The family and Moondog are left in peril, trying to figure out what's next, where to go, and how to find Karen.
