Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
This is Harry. He owns a bar. Or at least he used to before this beautiful shapeshifter showed up and stabbed him in the gut because she was looking for them and Harry was not “one of them”. But who’s them?
This guy won’t let the Copelands from continuing further unless they pay a toll. Good thing Karen knows him, or they’d never get out of there. He’s her dad.
Turns out Grandpa, a former meth chef, has built an entire community of End of Dayers, all bankrolled by tetracycline sales. He’s been pushing pharmaceuticals.
Karen and Josh decide to board their family at Grandpa’s outlaw bed and breakfast, while they retire to the bedroom. And suck face.
Whatever tetra Grandpa’s been cooking up is totally whack, and poisoning people who take it. The side effects are more like main effects.
Grandpa sends Matt, his sisters, his right-hand woman Raif, and Scott to the local watering hole to talk some sense into the locals who are screwing with his ethanol supply. Only, the locals can’t be found.
Josh uncovers the biggest secret in Grandpa’s compound, and it’s not pretty. All that laced tetra is killing a lot of folks.
But knowledge is a dangerous thing, and Josh pays the price for it. With a shovel to the head. Thwack.
Scott made a move on Dana, who in return hit him in the face. Brianna’s got to play big sister on this one, and break the two up, much to Dana’s chagrin.
After Dana takes off in a huff, Brianna steals the pick up and hits pavement with rubber. But she comes upon a shapeshifter “hitching” for a ride.
The shapeshifter gets a taste of Brianna’s DNA the only way that makes sense: full-on face lick.
And that’s the story of how Brianna lost the car and got stranded in who knows where.
When Josh is apprehended, Grandpa Ewan lays down the law: if Josh plans on telling his daughter about the bad tetra batch, and all the casualties, well, he’s got no choice but to kill him.
Meanwhile, the shapeshifter has assumed Brianna’s body, and insinuated herself into the mix. She’s not looking to make friends (especially considering she just murdered Scott).
Before Goat can take a bat to Josh’s head, the father Copeland sticks him with a knife in the belly. Now that’s a full serving of pain.
Josh, tripping on the peyote that his captors forced down his throat, is visited by his late father, who tells him he thinks he’s an adept. What an adept is, no one seems to know.
And then, the real Brianna and the shape-shifting Brianna have at it on the dirty, dirty bar room floor.
Dana takes aim, prays, and shoots. Luckily, she kills the right Brianna — the impostor, that is.
Josh spills the beans on Grandpa Ewan’s operation and kill order, and Karen is not too pleased. She clocks her old man good.
Karen and Josh take their family far away from that strange place. But once aboard the RV, the family encounters another set back – Josh is coughing up blood. Uh oh…
