A few years back, Ruth busted Clara for using her dark magic for profit and took away her talisman, rendering her powerless. Clara swore revenge for this humiliation.
Some time later, Clara came across Aleister hustling a living as a young street magician, introducing herself as "the reason you're alive." And thusly a dark alliance was formed!
Back in the present day at Stonehaven, Aleister has possessed Clay, leaving his own body safe and sound in a storage shack.
Clay/Aleister slams his own head against a post, creating a wound to better sell his B.S. about Eduardo jumping him.
Clay/Aleister encourages Ruth and Paige to perform Savannah's initiation ritual at Stonehaven. Why go all the way to Boston when they can do it right here?
A prisoner in his own subconscious, Clay faces off with Aleister, who gloats of his plans to kidnap Savannah once she has her talisman ... and to break Elena's heart while he's in Clay's body. Shudder!
Savannah is still shaken by Eduardo's goon bleeding out, the same gruesome way Dr. Sondra Bauer met her end. While her powers are potentially dangerous without her talisman, Savannah once again insists that horrible incident wasn't her doing.
During Part 1 of the initiation ritual, it is revealed that Savannah will initiate through fire as her catalytic element.
Much to Savannah's displeasure, her familiar will be a black rat. Paige assures her that this is a clever and intuitive creature.
Elena finds some survey maps and asks Clay if he's planning on building them a little cottage. Clay/Aleister changes the subject and advises that Elena stay away from Savannah, at least until she has her talisman.
Nick encourages Paige to take a little break from all this initiation ritual stuff. She obliges, though cryptically tells him that this will be "the last time" for their lovemaking.
Out in the woods, Clay/Aleister picks a fight with Nick, referring to Paige as a "little witch whore." Paige breaks it up before it gets really nasty.
When Elena confronts Clay about the incident, he tells her the witches are "tearing them apart." When he tries to have his way with her on the desk, she punches him and flees the room.
When Jeremy confronts Clay, Clay tells him that Elena's feelings for Savannah are a problem ... and reveals that Elena was forced to change into a wolf in front of Rachel at Aleister's compound.
Elena is concerned that Clay isn't himself lately and wonders if it might have something to do with Savannah's untethered magic. Paige tells her that she should be talking to Clay about this, not her.
Clay/Aleister journeys to the location on his survey maps, where he begins his preparations for more dark magic.
In Clay's subconscious, he meets his younger self ... and Jeremy's slain father, Malcolm! Malcolm tells him that if he wants to find a way out of here, he's going to have to "fight smart."
Elena tells Jeremy that she never told Clay about being forced to change in front of Rachel. The only person who knows that is ... Aleister!
Jeremy and Elena rush to the storage shack, though Aleister's body is nowhere to be found.
In the woods, Savannah engages in the final step of her ritual, initiated through fire as her catalytic element.
Savannah receives her talisman, though she's soon after kidnapped by Clay/Aleister.
Ruth tells a heartbroken Jeremy that there's no coming back from possession. Clay himself is dead, and they must kill Clay's body to kill Aleister.
From Clay's survey maps, Elena figures an old foundry is where Aleister plans on drawing the Dark Circle.
In Clay's subconscious, Clay is afraid to see what's waiting for him in the basement, though Malcolm encourages him to "let it tear down the walls - let it set you free!" Hmm ...
Jeremy tells Nick and Elena that Clay is gone - Aleister destroyed his soul. Elena insists that Clay is strong and he can still fight Aleister's magic.
Jeremy confronts Clay/Aleister at the foundry and they engage in combat ... with steel pipes!
In Clay's subconscious, Clay descends the stairs ... and finds an angry wolf in a cage. Boy, Freud would have a blast with this stuff.
Aleister tries to destroy Clay utterly by hanging himself ...
... a plan soon foiled by Jeremy, who impales him in the stomach. Ouch!
In Clay's subconscious, Clay lets the beast out ...
... which gives him the weapon he needs to fight Aleister's magic: turning into a wolf. Take that, witch!
Aleister wakes up in his own body and frees Savannah from the trunk of his car. He forces her to drink Elena's blood, 'cause he's such a damn creep.
The power of the Undoing sweeps across the land ...
... and takes hold of Paige and Ruth, whose noses start to bleed. "It's the Beginning of the End," says Ruth. Blast.
