Back at Stonehaven - the mansion her werewolf pack lives in - Elena is not pleased to see fellow pack member Clay. It's obviously been a long time and there's clearly big history between them.
We flashback to a younger Elena (we know she's younger because she has a ponytail) and Clay arriving at Stonehaven. They're lovers and he's bringing her to meet "his family" for the first time. So once upon a time they were happy....what went so wrong?
Elena talks to Pack leader Jeremy and tells him she'll use her super tracking powers to find the wolf that's been killing people, but once that happens, she's out.
Meanwhile, the hot-but-rude wolf that killed two ladies last episode identifies another victim, but is thwarted from luring her home with him (where, presumably, he'll go lupine and eat her).
In town, Pack members Nick and Tonio learn another dead girl has been found. They report back to the group.
Clay, Elena and Nick follow a lead on the possible wolf killer but come up short on clues. Clay shifts to human form before Elena and pets her wolf form. Elena screams at him "DON'T PET ME!" Nobody puts wolf Elena in a corner!
When Nick reverts back to human form he's naked, so he dons this gorgeous ensemble to preserve his modesty.
We get some insight into wolf mythology when we learn that Elena is the word's only female werewolf. Apparently shifting is dangerous for women - something we see by the evidence strain on Elena's face when she shifts twice in this episode.
Despite her trying to do everything to avoid him, Elena is affected by Clay's presence - especially his concern that her frequent turns to a wolf could harm her health.
In conversation with Jeremy, Elena drops a bomb (well, to the audience, not to Jeremy) - she once killed a man!
We flashback to a year earlier. Elena was trying to buy off a guy who was going to expose the presence of werewolves. When he got mouthy and threatened her, Elena lashed out and ripped the dude's heart out! Since then, she's felt major guilt and struggled to hang onto her humanity.
Before Elena can get more depressed over being a murderess, the Pack discovers another body on their property. It's a little boy. The psycho wolf's now killing kids!
