Mutants Wear Makeup Too: Season 1, Episode 5

For Round 1, each artist had to select a model and create beautiful alien creature makeup inspired by the model’s avant garde attire. Strike a pose! Heather finds some pasties and repurposes them for an elegant alien.

Niko sticks with warm tones and elfin ears, which don’t fit the challenge enough to keep him in the game.

At the last minute, Drew adds a massive Marie Antoinette wig, which overpowers his lovely, subtle makeup.

Mel fabricates some horns for her alien who is as fierce in battle as she is on the runway.

For Round 2 the artists were challenge to make the mutant spawn of two X-Men characters. Fun!
Mel struggles with prosthetics for the spawn of Mystique and Colossus, and then finally creates her own.

Drew blends Feral’s feline elements with Elixir’s golden and black coloring.

Heather wasn’t sure how to make a mutant makeup for the daughter of two very humanoid mutants. This look sends her home.

In the final round between former teacher (Drew) and student (Mel) the two were tasked to create 1950s sci-fi movie inspired creatures. Drew goes full camp with his grayscale ‘50s movie monster.

Mel’s monster “came from the swamp” and went home with the win! Congrats Mel!
