Sung Kang Shares Update on the Final Fast & Furious Movie
Fast & Furious star Sung Kang told SYFY Wire he's eager to reunite with the cast as work continues on the franchise's final chapter.
The finish line may finally be in sight for the Fast & Furious saga, and Sung Kang is just as excited as fans to get back behind the wheel.
Speaking with SYFY Wire while promoting his new film Drifter at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the actor shared an update on the long-awaited final installment of the blockbuster franchise.
"I am expecting that the studio and Vin (Diesel) will honor the audience and community that supported us over the past almost three decades now," Kang said. "I think that’s why he’s so enthusiastic. He’s putting out the bat signal. He’s telling us that, hey, we are going to also make a love letter for this amazing community.”
The actor has played fan-favorite street racer Han Lue across multiple Fast & Furious films, also reflected on the franchise’s 20thanniversary.
“It’s the 20th anniversary? Wow,” he said. Adding with a laugh, “I’m that old? I try not to think about it.”
His comments come as anticipation continues to build for the franchise's final chapter. Earlier in the year, Vin Diesel confirmed the eleventh film will be titled Fast Forever and is currently slated for release on March 17, 2028.
Diesel recently shared behind-the-scenes footage teasing the film on social media.
“I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” he said. “I just wanted to take a second to … say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world.”
Diesel, who played fan favorite character Dominic Toretto, said the final film in the franchise will be “the most amazing finale.”
In addition the final film, there are also multiple Fast & Furious TV series in development at Universal Television.
Diesel announced the news at the NBCUniversal upfront in May.
“Peacock is launching four shows in the Fast and the Furious universe,” he said.
