WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Rowan is in deep grief, mourning the loss of his stillborn daughter, Skye, and Tessia. He buries a toy meant for her in the greenhouse biosphere.
As bees swarm the grave, Rowan says "Hello, darling," smiles and grabs an axe. Uh-oh.
Lommie has been overtaken by Cynthia. She summons Auggie to her and tells him what is happening. Then she says she needs more strength and asks him to sabotage the ship.
Rowan surprises Matheson in her cabin and offers some dripping honeycomb. Oh, hi. Hi, crazy. Um. No thanks….
After he leaves, she rests and realizes she can now astral project. Cool power!
D'Branin asks Thale to use his telepathic powers to attempt communication with the Volcryn.
After Thale's powerful experience, he is overwhelmed. Matheson reaches out to him in astral form, shows him how he can use his powers, and calms him down. And they both acknowledge the dangerous bond that their powers create when they are close to each other.
Auggie goes full saboteur and plans to take out the dome, following Cynthia's demands.
Matheson goes to D'Branin's cabin and shows him how she can project herself. She kisses him and tells him she loves him. And then cryptically adds: "Remember this."
As the ship's dome begins to fracture and the ship goes into chaos, Rowan decides to attack Matheson. He hides in a dark hall with an axe, ready to strike.
The dome crashes into other parts of the ship, and a gravity error sends Matheson flying. She's on the run from Rowan, and this entire sequence looks just like the first episode. Ohhhhh….
Matheson hides from Rowan, as he rummages around with his axe while searching for her.
Matheson, with Rowan coming at her, kills herself in order to free Thale from their dangerous bond and to save everyone on the ship.
Thale immediately realizes what has happened. He looks simultaneously relieved and devastated.
Matheson dies, and Rowan limps away from her. He heads down the ship's halls and kills a crew member who crosses his path.
Rowan reaches the bridge, and attacks Captain Eris. He hacks him to pieces as crew members scream in terror.
Rowan is captured by armed crew and led away. Eris is shattered.
Lommie/Cynthia tells Auggie he did it. D'Branin finds Matheson's body. And Jhirl tries to make sense of Eris' body -- a mix of blood and electronics.
