Jeanette finds the perfect place, with an unheard-of acre of land. She and her daughters move, looking to make a place that's theirs, and isn't a constant reminder of what they've all lost. Her husband's buddies from the fire department help her fix the place up, adding to the renewed sense of hope.
Jeanette puts up security cameras around the house. No sooner does she start monitoring them than the strange and unusual begins showing up. Out of nowhere, a cloaked man appears, then disappears. Jeanette dismisses it as something on the lens, but she shouldn't have.

As he's working in the basement, Jeanette's friend Tom finds a collection of papers that tell the story of what had happened in the house decades before. Animals were sacrificed. It's a quiet day of housework for Jeanette, right up until something starts to rattle the floor as though it were an earthquake. She goes into the basement to investigate, only to turn back at the feeling that something evil was down there.
Poor Danine is trying to shower one night. Angela hears whispers outside, including Danine's name. Danine can't shake the feeling that something is focused on her while she’s bathing. The shadow that falls on the shower doors will be in Danine's memory forever.
Not quite ready to give up the house yet, Jeanette calls a local priest. The priest didn't perform an exorcism, but gave her tools to use within her faith to fight this demon. But when he tried to give her a small vial of holy water, all she could do was say that wouldn’t be enough. She got gallons of holy water to try to sanctify the house.

As Angela is nursing her broken foot in her room, a black figure begins to come through the mirror.
