Daredevil: Born Again Teaser Reveals First Look at Jessica Jones Reunion in Season 2
Daredevil: Born Again season two’s teaser gave fans a first look at the much-anticipated reunion between attorney Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and private eye Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).
Daredevil: Born Again is back to raise more hell for Matt Murdock.
Charlie Cox’s attorney-by-day, crimefighter-by-night superhero flashes an appropriately devilish grin at the end of Disney+’s teaser for season two, especially considering the much-anticipated reunion in store across the sophomore outing.
Seven years after Krysten Ritter signed off as Jessica Jones for seemingly the final time, her superpowered private eye is seen entering a church and telling a disheveled Murdock, “I hope you can walk, because I’m not carrying you.”
It wasn’t too long ago the two comic book heroes—alongside Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny “The Iron Fist” Rand (Finn Jones)—helped Netflix usher in a brief, but foundational television era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before all superhero content ultimately shifted over to the house of mouse’s streaming hub.
A plethora of companion and standalone TV offerings later, Marvel chose the day its meta-action-comedy Wonder Man series debuts to share a sneak peek at their O.G. small-screen hero—creating a full-circle moment for the MCU’s decade-long endeavor outside cineplexes.
The official synopsis for season two reads: “Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.”
Among the montage of season two moments, a shot of Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) hints a poignant flashback is on deck following his shocking season one death.
We also see our first look at Matthew Lillard’s mysterious new character, along with a glimpse of Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) enjoying an ice cream sundae a little too much for our liking.
"We are living in a very oppressive, claustrophobic New York," Cox explained to TVLine about what to expect in the second season’s eight episodes. "You're frightened to be out, to be seen... you can't voice your concerns, your desire for change.... It's very French Resistance."
Daredevil: Born Again season two will premiere March 24 at 6 p.m. PT, exclusively on Disney+.
