Eat Popcorn from a Killer Robot in These Wildly Unsettling M3GAN 2.0 Popcorn Buckets
M3GAN 2.0 hits the big screen Friday, June 27.
Double your pleasure, double your fun! M3GAN 2.0 amplifies the first movie's techno-thriller mayhem with the introduction of another murderous machine known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno). Movie theaters are following suit with not one, but three different popcorn buckets inspired by the hotly-anticipated sequel, which hits the big screen Friday, June 27 (click here for tickets). Hailing from Alamo Drafthouse, Cinemark, and Regal, the trio of snack receptacles depict M3GAN in two iterations: her classic look and the badass cyberpunk upgrade she receives in the second film.
"The original M3GAN was an absolute sensation, garnering great reviews and impressive box office returns based on the absolutely out of control and fun in-theatre experience it presented, while riffing on the age-old fear of having a creepy looking doll come to life and terrorize the world," Paul Dergarabedian, Senior Media Analyst at Comscore, tells SYFY WIRE. "Arguably only dear Chucky from Child’s Play engendered as much fear in audiences as M3GAN, and now to be able to take a piece of M3GAN home with you in the form of a popcorn bucket seems like an irresistible bargain for fans around the world.
"Given the irreverent, offbeat nature and popularity of the M3GAN character and the popcorn bucket craze, it’s about time that she would have a popcorn vessel to call her own. This will likely be one of the more coveted moviegoing keepsakes this summer movie season and if the movie delivers on the promise of the great trailer, it will be well worth the price of admission — and popcorn bucket — to enjoy the complete M3GAN 2.0 experience."
