The team of Stargate SG-1 has lost one of their own. TMZ reports that actor Carmen Argenziano, who portrayed Jacob Carter on the popular series, passed away today, his talent agency confirmed. He was 75.

Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania (70 miles north of Pittsburgh), Argenziano was also known for his roles in films such as The Godfather Part II and Sudden Impact.

Along with Stargate, Argenziano was one of the prospective new interns during the fourth season of House M.D. until his character was eliminated in reality show fashion. His other credits include guest roles on shows such as The Bionic Woman, Criminal Minds, Castle, and Hawaii Five-0.

Carmen is survived by his wife Lisa and sons Joseph and Tony. A fantastic actor with over five decades of beautiful performances, Carmen will be genuinely missed. Rest in peace.
