Disneyland jacks up prices to triple digits with Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge on horizon

Disneyland ticket prices are now over $100 with the theme park preparing to open its Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction this coming summer.

A Disney Parks spokerperson confirmed the 8% pricing change to SYFY WIRE, and the new rates affects all kinds of tickets, from one-day passes to parking; the cheapest option for visitation and parking is $104 a pop, and that’s only for non-peak days in May.

Disney World isn't any better, with a one-day pass costing $109 a person. For the more in-demand times of the year, a person could drop $150 or more on a ticket, depending on whether they're just going for a day or seeking annual passes — the latter can really break the bank if you catch our drift.

“We continue to provide our guests with a variety of ticket offerings to meet their needs, while helping us to spread visitation, better manage demand, and deliver a great experience," a Disneyland rep said in a statement provided SYFY WIRE.

Based on the ever-popular Star Wars franchise, Galaxy's Edge will include a number of rides inspired by the galaxy far, far away like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Set in the outpost on the planet Batuu, the attraction will also feature roving droids, strange creatures, and a cantina that serves alcoholic drinks to adults 21 and over.

Obviously, not many people are pleased with a price increase for a park that's meant to be one of the most "magical" places on Earth for families of all kinds. Here's what Twitter had to say on the matter (a warning that some tweets contain strong language):

The park is currently holding a limited-time offer for patrons both in California and in other states. If you live in Southern California, you have to choice of two, 3-day park hopper tickets; one allows you into all parks ($234), while the other only gains you access to one park of your choosing ($179). If you don't live in SoCal, you can visit Disneyland for $70 a day by purchasing "a 3-day, One Park per day ticket."
