12 Monkeys: Sneak Peek

Artie sends Jinks and Claudia to England to investigate long-shot horses winning big at the races, with their jockeys hospitalized for adrenaline loss. Why isn't Artie going? Because Mrs. Frederic needs to talk to him about a Regent thing. Now shoo! The Regent business Mrs. Frederic had in mind was introducing Artie to Abigail Cho, the new owner of the B&B. After making Artie's head spin by asking him to show her around the Warehouse, she disappears in that annoying way she has

Who should be scoping out the Warehouse but sinister Brit and ageless beauty, Charlotte Dupres? You remember her, she vowed vengeance on her charlatan husband after finding "his" tomb empty and the prize diamond missing back in episode 11.

Myka and Pete head to Vegas after a glowing, orange man plummeted onto a golf cart there. It seems it was altitude exposure - and not the devastating fall - that killed him. When a second body appears, Myka and Pete discover that the link between them is a magic show both victims attended. But when they interview the magician who allegedly makes people float, he, too, goes up, up, and away!

Claudia sweet-talks her way into getting the research of the man who owns the horses when a third jockey falls prey to the adrenaline drain. All three horses had recently seen the vet for injuries that were probably inflicted by illegal crops and such, but Jinks knows the vet doesn't have an artifact. The injuries were reported by the same stable boy, Ricky Jackson, who could have seen the abuse the jockeys dealt their horses and wanted to get revenge.

Preston's promoter tells them that Val tried to steal a trick from an aged magician, Monty the Magnificent. When they see a video on Preston's phone of the levitation trick, they know that he's the one with the artifact, but Monty insists there's no object - just real, honest-to-goodness magic.

Monty invites them to his show, where he attempts to levitate himself, but when Pete goes up instead, Monty runs away, scared that he has no control. His assistant, Rose, tells them he probably went home, but when they arrive there, he's nowhere to be found.

They discover that Rose is actually Monty's granddaughter and deduce that Rose must be controlling the artifact as a way to give her grandfather a "magnificent" end to his storied career.

Just as Artie tells Myka and Pete that the artifact is probably Cupertino's medal, Abigail appears. Artie exploded at her when she, a former psychotherapist, suggested he talk about his grief. She's furious that he refuses to acknowledge the problem and insists that he wear Pancho Villa's boots in order to numb his pain and get on with his work. Artie's fury grows stronger, pushing Abigal to bring forth a painful memory of someone she tried to help, and couldn't. She has rage of her own, and it almost prompts her to quit on the spot.

Rose has convinced Monty to levitate her at the outdoor show, and when she does, it triggers Pete to lift into the air again! He aims his trajectory at Rose and grabs her arm, then tells her everything that's going on with the medal she's using. She only ever wanted to make her grandfather happy - not kill people - so she lowers them both to the ground.

Jinks catches up with Ricky, who just reported an injury on a new horse, and learns that it was a piece of saddle blanket that caused the events. Claudia tries to stop the jockey from racing, but when he refuses to dismount, she has to jump on there with him to bag the artifact! Claudia's antics catch the notice of Charlotte, who snaps a photo of the tech genius and sends it to someone. We don't know who that someone is, but chances are, we're not gonna like it.

Monty was absolutely crushed when he found out he didn't have real magic, but the agents figure they can take him on an exceptional tour of the warehouse. He promises to keep their secret, but he didn't promise he wouldn't steal Houdini's light bulb!

Claudia and Jinks install the blanket in the warehouse, and a bolt of electricity comes out of nowhere and zaps Claudia in the behind!

Artie, moved by Abigail's story, takes some time to think. And when he's done thinking, he asks Abigail for her help. She agrees.
