Fresh from killing a bunch of Z's in the Grand Canyon, the gang needs shelter – and fast.
The good news: Murphy can still keep the zombies at bay using his super zombie psychic abilities. The bad news: it can only last for so long.
The team comes to a hotel and finds this squad of businesspeople, who make a lot of decisions based on voting, a talking stick, and an obnoxious level of corporate leadership groupthink. They were in the hotel when the outbreak began, and they've been here ever since … in one big horrible corporate offsite.
They're led by this guy: Dr. Gideon Gould (Anthony Michael Hall), a world-renowned expert in conflict resolution and corporate conversation.
The teams split into a process meeting, where they figure out how to share food and resources. Dana and Addy pair off to figure things out. They have a flat-out groovy relationship.
10K and Doc head off with Iggy, whose company sent him here years ago to work on his people skills. He leads them on a tour of the kitchen – turns out they lock up the food 'cause it tends to go missing.
Suddenly, gunshots ring out, and Murphy and Greg, one of the guys from the hotel, are discovered with gunshot wounds on the kitchen floor. Apparently the bullet passed through Murphy and into Greg … which means Greg now has Murphy's blood in him … hmm …
So who's the shooter? Both teams have to get into a circle and use the talking stick to try to come to an agreement about what happened … utilizing Gould's obnoxious corporate-speak, of course.
When 10K is accused of being the shooter, he says that yes, one day, he will probably kill Murphy, but until then, they're all on the same team. And that's when Vasquez enters with news that someone has been stealing food, and that points all fingers at …
… Iggy. The hotel team thinks that because Iggy has access to the kitchen and the food storage locker, he's the one who's been stealing food. So Gideon banishes him to the Z-infested outdoors.
So, yeah, it turns out having Murphy blood in your system makes you decidedly Cassandra-esque.
Things only get worse from there. One of the hotel team members, Washington, goes all Z and attacks Meg. Everyone's lurking through the hotel trying to discover the shooter.
While searching for the culprit, Addy and Dana get cozy in a closet and are saved from a Z attack by Roberta and Vasquez.
It turns out that Murphy's dreaming of the "tribe" he lost at the Grand Canyon is attracting more Z's to the hotel. And everyone is now trapped in one room. And you know what that means …
… yep, everyone now begins to turn on each other. They're sure they can find the killer through more group speak, but that's when Doc points out that Greg is awake!
And he can identify the shooter! By pointing!
Apparently the culprit is this dude, Travis. Turns out he and Dana have been planning to leave together for a while. But then he gets shot by Greg, turns into a zombie and is killed by Addy.
Iggy survived his banishment! His fellow hotel denizens cheer after he hits Gould with the talking stick.
New BFFs Addy and Dana say their goodbyes and off the team goes, ready for more adventures.
