Now that Addy's long-repressed memory of having to kill her own zombie mother has boiled to the surface, she's really on a spree -- killing Z's left and right and being downright delightful about it.
Mack is, as always, concerned. She seems to be headed down a pretty dark road, that Addy, and it's hard to anticipate what she'll do next.
Guided by Citizen Z, Mack and Addy are reunited with the team in an underground bunker, and there's much rejoicing ... and collective concern for Addy's bloodthirsty behavior.
Citizen Z tells the team there are supplies down the hall, that California is back online and ready for them to arrive and that, oh, they're in an old CIA black site. Cool.
Just outside of Salt Lake City, the team comes across some zombie children to whom Addy, remembering her brother, provides mercy.
Some non-zombie kids in flower shirts pass them on the street and one of them, Sam, tells Roberta he's going to Salt Lake to see his dad. Roberta says she'll drive him there herself if he shows the team where to find food -- and Sam knows just the place ...
When they arrive at a compound for gun-totin' ladies known as the Sisters of Mercy, the team is shot at, despite Sam's insistence that they're friendly. The Sisters' matriarch, Helen, offers the women sanctuary ... but the men have to stay outside the gates.
When Roberta finds Cassandra, they commiserate about what's been going down in the utopia-like sanctuary. It turns out that the boys, upon reaching the age of 13, have to leave the compound.
Well this is weird: when a Sister brings the gentlemen a blueberry pie, she finds herself attracted to Murphy ... especially his wounds. Kinky!
Addy confides in Helen about the trauma of killing her own mother and brother. Helen offers her some much-needed comfort ... but there's something a little off about it.
Turns out there's more than meets the eye with the good Sisters: if you're a man and you mistreat a woman, they feed you to the (didn't see this coming ...) ZOMBIE BEAR they keep in the barn.
Addy and Roberta help the Sisters rescue two women being held captive by a biker gang. Helen convinces Addy to shoot one of the bikers, thus turning him into a zombie that the others are tied to. What a way to go!
Helen continues her seduction of the emotionally vulnerable Addy as Roberta plans to get her teammates the hell outta this crazy coven.
Addy tells Mack that she's going to stay with the Sisters. He tells her it's a cult and tries to get her to stay, but to no avail: the damage is done.
A twist! The biker they thought had been killed (or turned) by his zombified colleague broke free of his bonds and has taken Murphy's pie-lovin' girlfriend captive outside the gate.
Mack does the hero thing once again and shoots the biker in the head.
Helen shows her appreciation for Mack's heroism by having him shot at when he tries to get Addy to come with him.
Mack pulls a gun on Roberta when she tries to stop him from going back for Addy. The team has no choice but to leave him to the mercy of the Sisters, and once again they're separated from the young lovers.
