The 20-years-later follow-up to Independence Day, Independence Day: Resurgence, is just around the corner ... and with it more mayhem being unleashed upon our poor planet, with some of our most recognizable landmarks taking the worst of it.
The Independence Day outings aren't the only films that have featured forces of nature or super-nature stomping, crushing, smashing, flooding and blowing up our planet's landmarks, you know. Why, who could forget the Tidal Wave From Hell taking out the Statue of Liberty in The Day After Tomorrow (2004), the big green guy casually barreling through the Golden Gate Bridge in Godzilla (2014) and Megatron destroying the Lincoln part of the Lincoln Memorial just so he could sit in the chair in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)?
