Episode Recap: Miami

On this episode of Close Up Kings Loki, Magick and Johnny Blaze head to Miami to work on their acts, check out the scenery and get better tans. Magick holds up a deck of cards in one hand and then keeps the other in his pocket. He then asks a guy to pull back at a section of the deck and choose a card. The guy choses 2 of hearts. Magick then tells the guy to take the deck and try to find his card - but the guy can't because Magick pulls the card from out of his pocket. Neat! Next, the Kings head to the beach - because who goes to Miami and skips out on the beach? Magick gives two gals a lesson in "close-up" magic. He takes his two house keys off the key ring and allows the girls to inspect them closely to make sure there are no gimmicks or trickery to his act. Get it? CLOSE UP! He hands one of the girls the silver key to keep in her hand. Magick keeps the brass key. He counts to 3 and by simply tapping the brass key on her hand, the brass key turns into the silver one.

Not one to be left out of the action Johnny shows off his skills with a card trick. He gives one man a small closed box to hold while he asks the other guy to pick a card and write on the front of the card without showing the card to Johnny. Johnny gives the card a good shuffle and then asks the gentleman holding the box to open the box. Inside the box that's been closed this entire time? The card the guy wrote on!

Later, the guys head back to the beach and Loki, the ladies man, spots some ladies (of course) hanging out with one lucky guy. Loki and his crew break up the party by asking the girls to stand to one side and then they ask the very nervous and confused guy to blow the girls a kiss and wave goodbye. Loki, Johnny and Magick then lift the blanket, count to three and when the blanket is lowered, they guy is gone. Being a magician has its perks.

Aside from warm weather, culture and bikini clad girls, Miami is also known for its art so the guys head to the erotic art museum to get a little inspiration for their next trick. While at the museum, Magick performs a disturbing act that involves tying two scarves into a knot. Tucking the knotted end into the owner's shirt and then pulling out her bra. Imagine it, your grandma. Magick just pulled off your grandma's bra…

The Kings play more tricks on old people when visiting Miami's Domino Park. Johnny plays the domino version of Three Card Monty and has to translate everything into Spanish for the man who barely speaks English. Johnny shows the elderly man no mercy as the man can't quite pick the right domino . But it's all in good fun, we think. Magick then heads to a cigar shop where he gets a whole family in on a trick. He takes a deck of cards and let's a boy pick a card. Magick then places the deck of cards on top of a box of unopened cigars. He instructs the boy to place his finger on the deck of cards. Magick snaps his fingers and asks the boy if he feels anything - he doesn't. Magick then instructs the boy to open up the cigar box and when the boy does he finds his card - ace of hearts - inside. In their final illusion in Miami, the guys bring a painting to life in front of an amazed audience.
