A Perfect(ly Named) Storm

Iâm a bad person. This made me laugh.

This ad campaign is pretty clearly tongue-in-cheek, but maybe this isnât such a bad idea. Clearly, when politicians stick their heads so deeply into the sand that they can see the Earthâs core, something needs to be done. Public mockery isnât the worst thing that can happen.

If youâre curious about the politicians called out in the video, you can read more about the climate change denial of Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Lamar Smith (R-Texas), David Vitter (R-La.), Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), John Boehner (R-Ohio), Collin Peterson (D-Minn.), James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Paul Broun (R-Ga.), and Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). At least Bachmann isnât seeking re-election, but Rubio is buzzed-about for a 2016 Presidential bid. And the House Science Committee is still stuck in the 19th century over many scientific issues as well.

The ad campaign is semi-satirical (being done to raise awareness about global warming denial) but if it were to happen, I wonder⦠how many of these anti-science politicians would be able to weather that storm?

Tip oâ the storm door to BABloggee Peter Backus.
