WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Now that Bacchus is dead, Margo tries to convince Evil Eliot (or as she calls him, "Darth Eliot") to try out a new body. He's not having it.
Josh is mourning what happened with Bacchus. And on top of that, he is having full werewolf-transformation nightmares. And waking from them bloody. Gross.
Penny finds Josh disposing of the dead animal he woke up next to. Yep. It's because of "The Quickening." That whole werewolf-STD thing is about to get real.
Julia is looking for insights into her Goddess powers -- are they gone? How is she still immortal? Josh suggests that Bacchus' maenads may have insights, so Julia and Penny travel to Fillory.
Alice was pulled into hiding at The Library by Christopher Plover. That Christopher Plover. The one who wrote Fillory and Further, and also molested the future "Beast." He wants her to help him do a spell in exchange for his helping her to find her book and escape from the Library. Ewwwww.
Quentin missed his dad's death and funeral. He's now arrived to clean out his dad's former model airplane workroom for his mom.
Margo tells Josh to buck up and find a solution to his problem. Basically, he needs to pass along his STD from hell or die trying. They consult some books, and he talks to a former one-night-stand named "Isaac" who, yes, also now was the murder-STD.
In Fillory, Julia and Penny find one of Bacchus' former maenads in despair. They ask if she can help them determine what is happening with Julia and her goddess-ness. She runs some tests, and then says she needs a devoted follower to perform an intimate ritual in order to learn more. Penny is that devoted follower.
And the intimate ritual is definitely intimate. There's nudity and anointing oils.
Evil Eliot has been observing Quentin clean up his dad's goods and Quentin painstakingly explains to him how hard it is. EE's bright idea: Smash the planes. Turns out that feels pretty great.
Alice manages to successfully steal hers and the rest of the gang's books from the Library's revision room. As she's going through them she sees something awful: Quentin's book ends next week.
The ritual proves that Julia is still a goddess. And yes, it looks like Penny has a mega-thing for her since this is alternate timeline Penny who was in love with alternate timeline Julia. And yes, now she has a maenad follower.
Josh is unwilling to just attack anyone. Margo does not want him to die. She has a solution: Her own consent. If they have sex, he'll have passed on the hell-STD and he won't die.
At lunch, Evil Eliot tells Quentin that real Eliot is dead.
