The Dudleys defeated The Ascension, Kevin Owens pop-up powerbombed Neville, Charlotte & Becky Lynch beat The Bella Twins and Sheamus defeated Dean Ambrose.
SmackDown kicked off with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper introducing the new member of The Wyatt Family: Braun Strowman, who made quite a first impression at Monday's Raw. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose appeared to engage in a heated verbal exchange that surprisingly doesn't escalate into a physical altercation.
The Ascension cut a heel promo humiliating The Dudleys, though The Dudleys had the last laugh as they were the victors in the following Tag Team Match. Later, Kevin Owens defeated Neville via the Pop-Up Powerbomb; Seth Rollins cut a promo on Sting and their upcoming World Heavyweight Title Match at Night of Champions (Sept. 20); Charlotte & Becky Lynch defeated The Bella Twins; and Dolph Ziggler & Ryback took advantage of tensions between Rusev & Big Show for the win.
The final match of the evening had Sheamus defeating Dean Ambrose, after which the three members of The Wyatt Family beat up Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
