Bad News Barrett destroyed Jack Swagger, Cesaro set a new record as he pinned Rusev and Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns defeated Sheamus & Big Show.
SmackDown kicked off with Roman Reigns addressing the WWE Universe, fresh from his surprise counter attack against the mind games of Bray Wyatt at Monday's Raw. Wyatt soon appeared on the TitanTron, igniting a battle of words as the two Superstars prepare to face off once again at WWE Battleground.
After Kofi Kingston & Big E defeated The Lucha Dragons, all three members of The New Day addressed the WWE Universe, expounding on how "the Power of Positivity" will help them win back their Tag Team titles at Battleground. And after Bad News Barrett defeated Jack Swagger, he commenced with a verbal assault against the emerging R-Truth, his opponent this Sunday.
Cesaro set a new record as the first Superstar on SmackDown -- and the second overall -- to ever pin Rusev, whilst gravity once again forgot Neville as he pinned Stardust.
The evening's main event featured Dean Ambrose turning the tables on Big Show's attempted chokeslam, though Roman Reigns' Spear attack against Sheamus was foiled by the sudden appearance of Bray Wyatt. Ambrose & Reigns thusly won the match via disqualification ... though Reigns managed to deliver both a Superman Punch and Spear against The Celtic Warrior.
