A major Mission: Impossible star is back for the seventh film, Matthew Vaughn enlists a Kick-Ass collaborator for Kingsman, and a familiar face joins Riverdale in today's casting roundup. Let's get to the news.

First up, Deadline reported Thursday that Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has joined Kingsman: The Great Game, the third film and first prequel in the Kingsman franchise launched in 2014.

Matthew Vaughn is once again writing and directing the installment, which Kingsman creator Mark Millar noted will take place way back in 1918, at the beginning of the Kingsman organization's history.

Other cast members reported in this all-star lineup so far include Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Harris Dickinson, Rhys Ifans, Tom Hollander, Stanley Tucci, Charles Dance, Daniel Bruhl, Matthew Goode, Djimon Hounsou, and Alison Steadman. Kingsman: The Great Game is set to hit theaters Nov. 9.

After the massive success of the sixth film, Fallout, last year, the Mission: Impossible franchise is pushing ahead with not one, but two more films with Tom Cruise returning to star as Ethan Hunt and Christopher McQuarrie back in the director's chair. Now we know at least one more major star will be back as well.

While appearing on the U.K. chat show Lorraine this week to promote The Kid Who Would Be KingFallout and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson confirmed that she will indeed be reprising her role as agent Ilsa Faust yet again for the seventh installment in the series.

When host Lorraine Kelly asked Ferguson directly if we'd be seeing her in more M:I films, Ferguson simply said, "You will," and also hyped her upcoming Stephen King adaptation Doctor Sleep.

Mission: Impossible is the franchise responsible for catapulting Ferguson to global stardom. She's been a part of some fantastic action sequences in the film and has great chemistry with Cruise, so it's no surprise she's being invited back once again. Now we just have to see if she'll be around for one or both films.

Mission: Impossible 7 will hit theaters July 23, 2021, followed closely by Mission: Impossible 8 on Aug. 5, 2022.

The CW series Riverdale has a long tradition of bringing in former teen stars to play adult characters, and everyone from Molly Ringwald to Luke Perry has gotten in on the fun. Now a familiar CW face is joining the cast.

Deadline reports that Chad Michael Murray, perhaps best known for the nine seasons he spent on the CW/WB drama One Tree Hill, has joined the show in a recurring role, and it's a big one. Murray has been cast as Edgar, the charismatic but mysterious leader of the Farm.

The Farm and its cult-like residents have been part of Riverdale's story for some time, but it's only really begun to move to the forefront of things in the still-airing third season. First Betty Cooper's sister Polly got involved, then she managed to rope in their mother, Alice. As Season 3 began, Alice and Polly were attempting to get Betty to join them, but she declined. Now Edgar will bring his shady message directly to Riverdale and its citizens, so we can expect some cult fireworks very soon.

Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
