DC FanDome splits 24-hour con into two dates, some programming moved to September

Like DC Comics’ iconic storyline, DC FanDome is getting its very own “Rebirth.” The comics publisher’s stay-at-home comic convention is doing a last-minute expansion only a few days before its planned launch. The all-virtual 24-hour con was supposed to run all day on Saturday, Aug. 22. Now, it's splitting up into two events, with some panels arriving a few weeks later.

According to an announcement, some of the FanDome will still take place as planned on Saturday. The rest? It's hopping three weeks to Sept. 12. Some of this makes sense from a scheduling perspective — the FanDome experience had planned out six different hubs for all its panels, trailers, and screenings. Now it'll just be the Hall of Heroes on the original date (with a few new additions like the panel for The Flash TV show) and the rest (KidsVerse, YouVerse, InsiderVerse, FunVerse, WatchVerse) combined into an "Explore the Multiverse" day for the second.

That leaves the former day's eight hours of content, which will be repeated twice within the 24-hour period, while the latter's content will be available to fans through an Official DC FanDome Online Scheduler Tool, which will allow them to build their own day of experiences throughout its 24-hour period.

Notable films making appearances at the con include Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, The Flash, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, and more. Basically, anything DC is going to be there. Fans will have to utilize the Speed Force, reverse the rotation of the Earth, or utilize the intellect of Brainiac to get their con schedule assembled.

But put simply, here's what you need to know: DC FanDome will now be held on two days. The Hall of Heroes content will run starting on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. PDT, looping three times over the 24-hour period, while the Explore the Multiverse content will hit at the same time on Saturday, Sept. 12.
