Netflix goes au naturel with Super Bowl spot for Our Planet docuseries

By Josh Weiss
Our Planet Netflix

Believe it or not, the Super Bowl delivered our daily dose of cute baby seal images by way of a spot for Netflix's Our Planet, an eight-part docuseries that arrives this spring.

Narrated by the great David Attenborough (brother of John Hammond), the show, much like the BBC's Planet Earth, will explore the wondrous animals, ecosystems, and habitats on this spinning blue marble we all call home.

"Our Planet combines stunning photography and technology with an unprecedented, never-before-filmed look at the planet’s remaining wilderness areas and their animal inhabitants," reads the official release obtained by SYFY WIRE.

This series has been a project four years in the making, with 600 crew members filming in 50 countries across 3,500 days. Per the aforementioned release, the subject matter "will focus on the breadth of the diversity of habitats around the world, from the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and diverse jungles of South America."

Our Planet premieres on Netflix Friday, April 5.
