Marvel Rising: Spider-Gwen recruited by Secret Warriors in first trailer for Chasing Ghosts special

We know you didn't get your fill of Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. How could you have? There is no such thing as too much. Thankfully, the animated series Marvel Rising has a new special coming soon, and it will feature the character — rather, it will feature "Ghost-Spider," which is how the show brands her.

The name has since transitioned to comics (Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider), though she was originally called Spider-Woman. We can barely keep all these Spiders straight, but the special, called Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts, will indeed feature Ghost-Spider, while continuing to highlight great Marvel heroes that are young and diverse.

The first special — made up of six shorts — saw the formation of "The Secret Warriors" and included Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, America Chavez, Patriot, and Inferno. In this new 22-minute-long special, they will attempt to recruit Ghost-Spider, better known as Spider-Gwen, aka Gwen Stacey.

Take a look at the special's first trailer right here:

It looks like a safe bet to say that Spider-Gwen (we're sticking with that name, we're just way too used to it) will not be an easy superbeing to recruit. She is played by Dove Cameron, who is no stranger to the Marvel universe, having played quite the villain in the past season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She's not the only carry-over from that show, either, as Chloe Bennet plays Quake, the role she originated (and still plays) on the ABC show. At the very least, it looks like Squirrel Girl (Milana Vayntrub) and Ms. Marvel (Kathleen Khavari) will continue to rise as well.

The 22-minute special premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 7:00 p.m. ET, and can be viewed at Marvel HQ.
