The mid-season premiere for Season 4 of Star Trek: Discovery comes out this Thursday and SYFY WIRE has an exclusive clip from the upcoming episode, “All In.”

As the episode title suggests, “All In” will have Book (David Ajala) and Ruon Tarka (Shawn Doyle) heading to a casino, where they’ll make a deal with a broker named Haz (Daniel Kash), who Book knows from his courier days.

Check out the clip below for a first look at Haz and the deal Book and Tarka make with him:

When we last saw Book and Tarka before the mid-season break, the two had gone rogue because they want to destroy the Dark Matter Anomaly (aka the DMA), the artificially-created phenomenon that destroyed Book’s planet in the first episode of Season 4.

The Federation and its allied planets voted against attacking the DMA and decided to try and initiate First Contact with the species that created it. Book and Tarka decided destroying it was the better option, however, and stole the only portable prototype spore drive to do so.

Destroying the light years-long DMA, however, isn’t a simple task, and Book and Tarka need isolynium, a rare explosive material, to power Tarka’s weapon against the DMA.

It turns out that Haz has got the isolynium goods, but isn’t one to give it away easily. The clip shows Book’s plan to get the isolynium from Haz, but will his plan be successful? Haz isn’t making things easy for him, and it’s a good guess that Michael (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the rest of the Federation won’t stand by and let Book and Tarka go through with their plan unhindered.

How things turn out in the casino is up in the air, but we’ll see how Book’s efforts pan out when the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery airs new episodes on Paramount+ on Thursdays.
